Privacy
Your study belongs to you.

What an account stores
Google sign-in uses Firebase Authentication. Email sign-in uses Supabase Authentication. You can link both methods in My BibleReach after verifying access to both accounts. Linked methods use the same private study in Cloud Firestore. Email study is copied safely; existing Google items remain and conflicting email items are preserved as private notes. Until you choose to link, each method retains its original saved study. Each provider stores the account identity and private study associated with that account, including reading preferences, notes, bookmarks, journal, reflections, calendar reading plans and progress. Each reader can access only their own saved study.
Device saves and transfers
Guest study stays in your browser. Signing in does not upload those guest saves automatically. The transfer button on My BibleReach lets you copy them into your account. Once signed in, changes to your personal study sync when connected. Account data is also cached on your device so it remains available while offline. Sign out before sharing your device; successful sign-out removes the account study cache.
Listening and visit counts
Listening uses the voices provided by your device or browser. Some voices use the device provider’s online speech service. Voice, speed and up to 50 listening positions are saved in this browser. Clearing site storage removes these preferences. Public counters record every opening or refresh of a section or post, without requiring sign-in. A random identifier for each page visit prevents a retried request from counting twice. It is not a persistent visitor identifier. Visits are not a count of unique people, and listening during a visit does not add another visit. These counters do not record your private notes or microphone audio.
BibleReach Kids analytics and sharing
Kids activity totals are visible only to the ministry owner in Studio. They include anonymous sessions, page views, journeys started and completed, audio plays and share actions. A random session identifier stays in session storage and restarts after 30 minutes of inactivity or a new day. The server stores a daily hash to prevent duplicate counts, with short-lived activity markers cleared by a daily cleanup after expiry. No child names, birth dates, email addresses, account identifiers, answers or progress records are sent to this analytics service. We do not store IP addresses, precise location or browser fingerprints in Kids analytics; hosting providers may maintain separate operational logs. Browser privacy signals are respected, and the For grown-ups page offers a device opt-out. Counts are approximate and exclude offline or blocked activity. Shared links include the published journey and chosen learning experience, without answers or saved progress.
Kids Missions
Missions practise lessons from published Bible Strategies through clearly imagined challenges. Game discoveries, choices and progress stay in this browser session. Choosing “Remember progress on this device” saves them in browser storage until you reset the mission or clear site storage. No child names, answers or mission progress are sent to the server. Shared mission links do not include progress or answers. Optional narration uses the voices provided by the browser or device, which may use an online speech service.
Your private writing
Your notes and journal start private. You can choose to publish a titled note to Community. Only that published version becomes visible to other readers. Making a note private removes it from the public feed; previously shared copies or screenshots cannot be recalled. Authorised ministry administrators and the hosting providers may have technical access needed to maintain the service. Account privacy does not mean end-to-end encryption.
Community and pictures
Community notes, likes, comments, reports and block lists use Firebase for both Google and email accounts. Your display name and compressed profile photo appear with public notes. Your cover picture is visible only on your personal home. Public contributions are reader writing, not reviewed BibleReach teachings. Reports can be reviewed by the ministry owner. Blocking hides that reader’s contributions from your feed; it does not prevent them from seeing public notes.
Conversation notifications
Comments on public notes and direct replies create private notifications for the relevant readers. Self-comments do not notify you, and blocked readers cannot create new alerts for you. Optional phone alerts require your permission and an enabled device. Phone alerts contain no comment text. Turning off phone alerts keeps your in-app inbox and reading reminders available.
Account providers
Email access requires confirmation of your address. When Google sign-in is available, Google provides the basic identity information used to authenticate you. BibleReach does not receive your Google password.
Android test apps
The adult Android app includes the full World English Bible for offline reading. Optional Account sync connects your Google or verified email account and shares verse notes and chapter bookmarks with the website. Linked email accounts use their linked Google study identity. The app encrypts session credentials using Android Keystore; this does not make cloud study end-to-end encrypted. Guest study and each account have separate device caches. Sync is explicit, and conflicting local edits can be preserved as device copies. Sign-out disconnects the active identity; account caches and pending edits may remain privately on the device for reconnection to the same account. Clearing app storage removes those device copies.
The separate Kids Android test app keeps its completion markers on the device. It does not request a child name, email address or date of birth. Recorded audio is streamed from BibleReach services; hosting providers may retain operational logs. These Android builds contain no advertising or analytics SDK. Their arithmetic grown-up hurdle is not verified parental consent or age verification. Native account registration, password recovery and deletion link to the website. The Android app provides a direct Delete my BibleReach account entry in Account sync.
Manage your information
You can edit your study and download a backup from your Library. To request deletion of your account and associated data, use Delete your BibleReach account. This option is also available in My BibleReach under Account. Requests are processed manually after ownership verification; the deletion page explains the steps, data removed and retention exceptions. For access or correction, contact thebiblereach@gmail.com. You can continue reading Scripture without an account.
